Nicolena's Ristorante is now open in the Town & Country (that is, P&C) plaza on Route 20 in Cazenovia. I stopped in for lunch yesterday and liked what I saw.
The restaurant is in the space formerly occupied by DiPaulo's; they also have some of the adjacent space that was formerly a diner (Marshall's Diner has closed and the space is now home to Masters of Karate). That extra space is being used as a dining room for eat-in meals.
Nicolenas' menu features pizza, cold and hot subs, salads, chicken wings, and more. I chose a lunch special of chili and salad for $4.95. I got a huge bowl of delicious chili (made with spicy homemade marinara sauce and a very generous amount of meat, plus a few kidney beans) and a very fresh garden salad with black olives, tomato, onion, and shredded cheese. It was made very quickly and everything tasted great.
On Monday, they plan to open for breakfast, so Cazenovians will have a new sit-down breakfast option to complement Cazenovia's Country Kitchen, Emma's, Common Grounds, and McDonald's.
I enjoyed my visit to Nicolena's and I'll definitely be back. Support a new local business and give them a try!
