Stone Quarry Hill Art Park Receives Raves from Tourist

A friend of mine who enjoys hiking and generally being outdoors sent me this note; she didn't even know I lived in Cazenovia but she thought I'd be interested in the place:

Stone Quarry Hill Art Park --- we went to this place yesterday ---- it was awesome! It's a 100-acre property that the artist/owners gave to a trust to be used as an outdoor sculpture garden --- all throughout the grounds they have walking trails and fields etc., and all along your walk there are sculptures made out of metal, natural materials, whatever. It's really cool. One artist made this huge tower out of newspaper --- it will take a looooong time to break down, but as it does, moss is growing on it, and mushrooms, and it's becoming part of the landscape. Very cool. We brought the kids and the dog, and it was misty and grey which made the turning leaves stand out. We had such a nice time.

I just love finding all these tucked-away gems :-)

We have a unique treasure in our own backyard, I hope we always do.
