The Post-Standard today reports on the seventeen officially-designated "estates" in Madison County, sixteen of which are located in Cazenovia. They range from lakeside properties to farms, all tied together by the requirement that they be located on more than five acres and have functional outbuildings such as guest quarters, a boathouse, or horse stables. Cazenovia historian Russ Grills is quoted in the article, giving information about the original purpose and dimensions of some estates.
