Several children from the Cazenovia area are participating in the Salt City Center for the Performing Arts production of Jesus Christ Superstar, which is being performed for the 29th consecutive year. The production will be presented on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:15 PM and 3:00 PM on Sundays, through April 9 (except Saturday, April 1, when there will not be a show). 29TH ANNIVERSARY
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
Joseph N. Lotito, Executive Director of Salt City Center for the Performing Arts, announces that the Twenty-ninth consecutive annual presentation of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will open on Friday, March 17th and will run until April 9 at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Avenue, in Syracuse. Bring the whole family to experience the pageantry and spectacle of Central New York’s most revered theatrical production of the moving and passionate re-telling of the last days of Jesus Christ through music and song, reverently performed by a talented cast of performers of all ages.
The production opens at Most Holy Rosary Church on March 17 and runs through April 9 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:15 pm (however, there is no show on Saturday, April 1) and 3:00 pm Sunday matinees on March 19, 26 & April 9; and a 7:30 pm performance on Sunday, April 2. Additionally, school performances are scheduled at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 30 and Wednesday, March 5 at the cost of $8.00 per student with one free chaperone per 10 children. Attendees for all performances should use the Hubbell Avenue entrance. Ticket prices are $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for students & seniors. There are also group rates available. This production of the glorious and moving Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical will be directed by Joseph N. Lotito with musical direction by Pat Lotito and choreography by Michael Grosbeck. The cast includes Casey Ryan as Jesus, Terry LaCasse and Paul Valentino, Jr. sharing the role of Judas, Becky Bottrill and Deborah Durant Brogan sharing the role of Mary Magdalene, Robert Steingraber will star as King Herod, David Kuznia as Caiaphas, Bill Molesky as Pilate, Ron Richardson as Peter, Joe Ridgway as Annas with guest performances by Mark Kotzin, and Del Caraway as Simon. The role of Mother Mary will be shared by Betty Gay and Sandra Kuznia with guest performances by Mary Siracuse. Jeanne Taylor-Huss will perform the role of Maid by the Fire. Dancers are Erin Cropper, Rachael Kieffer, Katie Kiesa, Sara Newton, Andrea Przybylski and Elizabeth Stevens.
