Cazenovia High School: Highest Percentage of Advanced Regents Diplomas in CNY

According to this Post-Standard article about the percentage of Regents diplomas awarded by school districts in the four-county Central New York region, Cazenovia High School awarded the highest percentage of advanced Regents diplomas of any school district in the area. Congratulations to the school and the students!

Since all students have to have Regents diplomas, beginning with the Class of 2009, the big push now is to increase the number of students obtaining Regents diplomas with advanced designation.

To obtain this diploma, a student needs to have 22 credits and pass eight Regents exams with a score of 65 or higher.

These diplomas were given out for the first time to the Class of 2005.

Cazenovia had the highest percentage in Central New York, with 74 percent of its 2005 graduates getting advanced designation, followed by Fayetteville-Manlius with 72.2 percent, West Genesee with 67.3, Skaneateles with 67.1, Jamesville-DeWitt with 65.2 and Westhill with 64 percent.

"It certainly is a tribute to our staff, and not necessarily just the high school staff. The elementary school, middle school and high school teachers go over and above to get our students to graduate on time and do well," said Cazenovia Superintendent Robert Dubik.
