New York Regional Interconnect is a project that proposed building a private power line corridor between Oneida County and downstate New York. The proposed lines pass through Madison and several other upstate counties. Opposition is growing to the NYRI project, according to the Syracuse Post-Standard, and a meeting will be held tonight in Sherburne to discuss strategies for stalling or stopping development.
