State Senate 49th District Campaign Underway

The New York State Senate's 49th district race is already underway. The incumbent, Democrat David Valesky of Oneida, is campaigning for re-election. Assemblyman Jeff Brown, of Manlius, is running as a Republican and canvassing in Cicero and every other community in the district, while conservative Tom Dadey is also pushing for inclusion on the Republican ballot. Dadey's participation in the 2004 race as a Republican (endorsed by county committees) hepled split the Republican vote with incumbent senator Nancy Larraine Hoffmann during the race that brought Valesky to office Some Republicans are concerned that two candidates on their ticket - even after the September 15 primary, could benefit Valesky again.
