Cazenovia, N.Y. – Dave Eichorn, WSYR Channel 9 meteorologist, will speak at Cazenovia College on the impact of climate change (global warming) on Central New York weather, on Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in McDonald Lecture Hall, Eckel Hall on Lincklaen Street in Cazenovia.The event is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Cazenovia College First Year Program and the Cazenovia Public Library in conjunction with the First Year Program summer reading assignment and the library’s Community Read, “Field Notes from a Catastrophe” by Elizabeth Kolbert.

WSYR’s Chief Meteorologist Dave Eichorn is an Upstate New York native. He studied Meteorology at SUNY Oswego, the University of Oklahoma, and North Carolina State University. He is the recipient of several awards for the coverage of special weather events including Hurricane Gloria, and the Blizzard of 1993. He is recognized with the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval and has held office in the Central New York Chapter of the American Meteorological Society many times in the last decade. Eichorn heads the NewsChannel 9 Storm Team Academy, visiting countless schools each year, teaching about weather and the environment.
