Firefighters Endorse Valesky for Senate

State Senator Dave Valesky has received the unamimous support of the Madison County Fire Chiefs' Association. Valesky is running for re-election against a candidate strongly backed by Joe Bruno and the status quo in Albany. Here's the story from the Post-Standard:

Firefighters endorse Valesky
State Sen. Dave Valesky (D-Oneida) grabbed another endorsement this week when the Madison County Fire Chiefs' Association unanimously issued their support for his re-election in the 49th District.

Valesky is running against Republican Jeff Brown, who is giving up his seat in the state Assembly seat to campaign.

A release by Valesky's campaign says the chiefs made the endorsement based on Valesky's work securing legislative grants for local departments and his regular contact with volunteer firefighters.

"From Day 1 in office, Sen. Valesky has been out meeting with our members, working with chiefs and fighting for resources on our behalf," Madison County Fire Coordinator Joe DeFrancisco said. "The chiefs all agree that we need to keep him in Albany working for our volunteer departments."
