The Cazenovia school board will hold a public information meeting tonight, Thursday 10/5/06, to update residents on its proposal for a $13 million capital improvement project.
Here's an update from the Post-Standard
I still haven't made up my own mind about how I'll vote on the proposal, but one thing I have seen is a lot of rumor and personal attacks. I think boosters of the project have a great case for the improvements, and I think those concerned about the project's impact deserve a fair hearing without being reviled publicly and privately by others.
I've said before that it's great to live in a place where people care enough to speak their minds - and I think that's true. But it would be even better to live in a place where people respected each others' differences and worked together to keep the community moving forward. I hope tonight's meeting reflects that attitude and that as the board provides information people will listen with respect... and that when and if opponents and proponents speak, that we all treat each other as good neighbors.
