From a candidate's debate in Manlius, here's all you need to know about Brown versus Valesky for the 49th senate district in the NYS senate:

Valesky [reminded] the audience that a large chunk of Brown’s campaign funding came from the Senate Republican Campaign Committee, which is controlled by Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno, whom Valesky called the “anti-reformer.” Filings with the state Board of Elections show Brown has taken more than $600,000 from the committee since last January, as well as $8,500 from Bruno’s own re-election committee.

“One candidate is not afraid to stand up to party bosses,” Valesky said. “Another candidate has taken three-quarters of a million from one of the ‘three men in a room.’ That’s the choice you have on election day.”
