School Improvement Project Headed for December 14 District-Wide Vote

According to the Post-Standard, the Cazenovia school board has scheduled a vote on Thursday, December 14 on two proposals. The first, for $12,640,000, encompasses building improvements (asbestos abatement and new roofs), improvements and new baseball and softball fields at the Fenner Road (Sean Googin) athletic complex, and the installation of a new artificial turf football field at the site of the current field at the high school. The second package, for $360,000, would fund the light poles and lighting assemblies required to light the high school football field. That package was unbundled from the others in the hope that if it does not pass, private funding can be found for the light poles themselves - which are part of the site plan that was reviewed by the board and found to have no significant adverse environmental impact under the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) rules.
