Cazenovia College Presents Steve Martin’s “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” in Catherine Cummings Theatre

Cazenovia, N.Y. – Thursday – Saturday, Nov. 9 – 11: Cazenovia College’s Drama Club Fall Production Picasso at the Lapin Agile by comedian Steve Martin, at the College’s Catherine Cummings Theatre on Lincklaen Street in Cazenovia. The story is set in Paris on October 8, 1904. Picasso and Einstein are each working on an amazing idea (Einstein’s "The Special Theory of Relativity" will be published in 1905, and Picasso will paint “Les Demoiselles D’Avignon” in 1907), when they meet in a bar, where they have a debate about genius and talent. The cast of characters includes the addle-pated cafe owner, Freddy; Picasso's sexy girlfriend, his pompous art dealer, and a mysterious visitor from the future. Author Steve Martin has said the play "is really about how exciting it is when you're on the verge of something."

The show will be directed by DM Shepard, instructor of English at Cazenovia College, who will be assisted by students in her Theater Production class. The cast is made up of Cazenovia College students.
