Megacontractor Bechtel is leaving Iraq

US contractor Bechtel, one of the companies that won no-bid contracts during the "Mission Accomplished" phase of the Iraq war, is leaving Iraq because of the poor conditions. They have lost 52 employees in Iraq to the violence there, and their president says the post-invasion reconstruction did not go at all as they had expected it to.

On the plus side, the company did get $2,300,000,000 for the work they did.
