Cazenovia village trustee Troy Waffner has resigned his position, effective immedately, to become the deputy commissioner of agriculture and markets for New York State. Mayor Tom Dougherty appointed Barbara Bennett to fill Waffner's seat for the remaining three months of his term. Village elections will be held on June 19th; there is no early word on who the candidates in that election will be.
