Village Elections To Be Held Tomorrow, June 19

Cazenovia village elections will be held tomorrow, June 19 2007. Up for a vote are the mayor's seat - where current mayor Tom Dougherty is unopposed and has both Democratic and Republican endorsements - as well as two trustee seats.

The trustee seats are currently held by Dave Vredenburgh and Barbara Bennett. Bennett, who is not running, is serving the remainder of trustee Troy Waffner's term after Waffnet resigned to take a position in state government. Vredenburgh - endorsed by village Democrats and Republicans alike - is running. Also running are Tom Tait (as a Republican) and Russ Brownback (as an independent); the top two vote-getters among the three trustee candidates will have been elected to serve two-year trustee terms.

Last week's Cazenovia Republican had profiles of each candidate for trustee.

Polling is to be held at the Cazenovia Public Library at 100 Albany Street from noon until 9 PM.

Good luck to all the candidates - I hope there is a big turnout.
