Nationally Known Quilter Featured At Cazenovia Artisans

Quilter Sue Ellen Romanowski

Sue Ellen Romanowski is more than a quilter!  Wall hangings, table runners, placemats, baby quilts, hats, vases and fabric picture frames pour out of her sewing machine, each inspired by her designs.  Using a variety of fabrics and a vivid imagination, Sue Ellen strives to add vibrancy to our homes and offices.  Her textile works include contemporary and traditional techniques including: pieced patchwork and appliqué, as well as surface designs such as beading, threadwork and needle-punched fibers.  An accomplished gardener, the natural world of color inspires much of Romanowski’s work.

This CNY fiber artist, a charter member of Cazenovia Artisans, will be the featured artist during the month of July.  On Sunday, July 19, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Sue Ellen will give a demonstration of machine quilting for interested sewing enthusiasts at the 39 Albany St. gallery.  In addition to learning about machine quilting, you can view her wall hangings, examine her unusual fabric vases, pick up a pretty, feminine baseball cap and find gifts for all occasions.
