A new law in the Village of Cazenovia serves up a stiff punishment: a maximum $500 fine for hosting an underage drinking party. The second offense could mean two weeks in jail.

Village of Cazenovia passes

Tonight, the village of Cazenovia’s board made “Social Host” a law. The law says that any property owner will be ticketed if he/she knowingly allows consumption of alcohol on his/her property by any person under the age of 21. A first offense is punishable by a fine. Cazenovia School District considers extending no tolerance alcohol policy
